August, age 12, Queens, New York
"I like the Bronx Zoo. Don't miss the tigers and
elephants, as seen from the 'Bengali Express.'"
Daniel, age 9, Queens, New York
"Don't miss the Bronx children's zoo! A playground and a
zoo, all in one."
Emma, age 12, Hell's Kitchen, New York City
"If you come to New York City, Emma says, "Make sure you visit my family's favorite restaurant, Café Edison, sometimes called The Polish Tea Room. It's a very inexpensive restaurant on 47th, a few doors west of Times Square where Broadway actors, musicians and stage hands have gone to lunch or dinner for many years."
"We also love John's Pizza, on 44th between Broadway and 8th. It has huge murals of New York City on it's walls and pizza that's different from any other in the City. The food at Pam Real Thai on 49th just west of 9th Avenue is also pretty great."
"All of these places are extremely reasonable..... especially for New
York."
Euphrozinia, age 7, Brooklyn, New York
My new favorite place is Madame Alexander's Doll Factory in Harlem.
Open to the public by appointment. This is the oldest factory still in the original building in Manhattan. I went there for a birthday party. We got to see them make hats and put the eyes in the heads. We got to make our own dolls! We got to see all the 2008 dolls, too!
Metro, age 12, Brooklyn, New York
If you are in Brooklyn and are near the Brooklyn Bridge go to
the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory located at 1 Water st. Not only do they
have great ice cream but they also have a great veiw.
Nick, age 12, Little Italy, New York City
“If you come to new York, I’d recommend the retail store Kidrobot in Soho. They sell limited edition urban vinyl figures, art, and clothing."
Yadi, age 12, Yonkers, NY
“When you come to New York be sure to explore Times Square, see a Broadway show, go shopping and take lots of pictures!”
